Knightwood Legal is able to advise on all aspects of public and administrative law.
Drawing on the experience of its founder, Simon Whitbourn, the firm was established in 2017 to specialise in the developing field of disaster and emergency management law. Accordingly, we can advise on such topics as the laws of disaster risk reduction, global and domestic public health law and international maritime disaster law.
We work with central government departments, local authorities and other public bodies as well as with non-governmental organisations and international agencies.
Our recent instructions have included advising on the implementation into national laws of international conventions on ship safety and marine environmental protection and, with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, reviewing existing laws dealing with public health emergencies.
We also provide advisory services across the broad spectrum of public sector work, retaining a long-established interest in education law, as well as offering legislative drafting experience.
Internally, and through our network of associates, we can carry out research, author reports and undertake training.
Please note that we do not provide services to individuals nor do we advise on debt recovery, employment tribunal or licensing matters for small businesses.
