Knightwood Legal is able to advise on all aspects of public and administrative law.
Drawing on the experience of its founder, Simon Whitbourn, the firm was established to work, in particular, in the developing field of disaster risk reduction law and the associated area of international maritime disaster law.
We also provide advisory services across the broad spectrum of public sector work, retaining a long-established interest in education law, as well as offering legislative drafting experience.
We work with central government departments, local authorities and other public bodies as well as with non-governmental organisations and international agencies.
Internally, and through our network of associates, we can carry out research, produce reports and provide training. Simon Whitbourn was principal author of a Country Desk Review of the UK's disaster management legislation as part of the International Federation of Red Cross Societies' Checklist on Law and Disaster Preparedness and Response Project and we are currently working on reports assessing the implementation of international maritime conventions into domestic law.
